I have never used them. Looks like it could get messy, and/or frustrating.
Some of the bigger stores around here (Staples, Office Max) have deals where you bring in your empty cartridges and they give you a free package of printing paper, or coupons off other purchases. That's good enough for me to just buy the over-priced, name brand cartridges.

JC,
These continuous ink systems are very popular. I know JMag and Orsi both use them. I don't know who else... I think Lehman does too... but I've only heard good things about them.
I'm about to buy one too. Once my current set of ink runs out I'm getting one.

I just purchased an Ink Caddy II (http://www.clamcamvideo.com/Accessories.html). It's a little bit more expensive than most on eBay. They come highly recommended from several videographers on the VU board, including the Randalls. I am very pleased with the Ink Caddy so far. It was easy to set up and the prints look great so far. Last summer I bought a CIS from eBay and was very frustrated after making a mess, runining a printer, and sending it back for a loss. So far, so good with the Ink Caddy II.

I have a continuos ink system that I bought off of E-Bay.I love it, but I have found that when I do photo quality prints the prints are very dark. So I use that printer for everyday things and use my other printer for covers and DVDs.
I think that the major factor in the quality of these systems is the ink that goes into them. When my current system runs dry ( eventually) I will replace the ink with a different brand and find out if that produces better results.

Chris is right...we use the Ink Caddy II and LOVE it! We bought ours from Reliant Digital. I've had it since July and it's not even half-empty (and I print ALOT on my printer!) The quality of the ink is great too. Blacks are really black...not like the green I had experienced from some Meritline ink.
