It also needs to have a studio config including a CCU. Anyone know of one for less than $40k?

Thanks,
Joe

I thought the Canon XLH1 has all that good stuff for only $5k-$6k.
'Could be wrong.

Nice avatar. Didn't I go to high school with you?

Yes, I found that one but can you get a CCU, studio viewfinder, tally, etc.?

an XLH1 with console will probably do what you need - console and a PC replace a CCU

Actually I found one, a Sony DXC D50WSH

It has everything I was looking for and it's in the low $20's.

Joe, Sonydude is right.
If you buy the Canon CCU software with the XLH1, you will be at half the cost of that camera you were looking at.
Of course, I know you're used to full-sized cameras so you might be partial to that format. But for the rest of us that only dream about buying cameras that cost as much as small cars, the Canon solution might be better.

What project are you working on that you need this kind of madness?

I just ordered a DRS450. I thought long and hard about getting one of the XDCAM HD's but decided to stick with SD for a little while longer. I think you can configure the 450 for studio work, but am not buying it strictly for that, so it wasn't a big factor.

Hi Andrew,

I'm going to secretly install 5 of those cameras in every church in the world and remotely tape every wedding and sell the tapes to the B&G for $5. ($10 Canadian). Soon I will rule the world! You will all bow down to me. :notworthy:

It's not for me, it's for a friend of mine who is upgrading a local access cable studio. I'd have no use for a camera like that. Really. :devil-smiley-076:
