Hello everyone...

I've got some exciting news. REGISTRATION for EDUCATION CENTRAL
at The 4EVER Group’s VIDEO 07 Conference and Trade Show...
is scheduled to open on October 13, 2006.

Advanced registration will be available for as little as $249. Discounts will
be available for students and for multiple attendees from a single studio.

The VIDEO 07 Conference and Trade Show will be held January 8 - 11, 2007
at the beautiful and newly renovated Hyatt Regency Riverfront in Jacksonville, Florida.
If you’re thinking about attending... NOW is the time to make your plans.

For MORE INFORMATION...
http://www.4evergroup.org/...onandtradeshow.shtml (http://www.4evergroup.org/conventionandtradeshow.shtml)

Why is now the right time??? (you ask)

Because there will be a FULL schedule of intriguing seminars and workshops,
combined with outstanding social events and the Artistic Achievement Awards banquet.
VIDEO 07 will be the standard by which all other videographer conferences will be measured.

You'll want to arrive early to take advantage of the ULTIMATE LEARNING EXPERIENCE...
which is a Special two-day (10 hour total) Pre-Conference workshop with the amazing
RANDY STUBBS. Part One begins on Sunday, January 7, with Part Two concluding on
Monday January 8. The cost for this unbelievable educational opportunity is just $199.
Class size will be very limited and VIDEO 07 registration is required.

VIDEO 07 will officially open on Monday, January 8, and programming will
continue through to the late afternoon of Thursday, January 11. You won't
want to leave early either. Thursday's lineup of educators promises to
be a veritable "who's who" of legendary event videographers.

Air fare wars (and the plunging price of gasoline) are making travel to Jacksonville
extremely affordable right now. The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront has
special conference room rates of only $129.00/night (plus applicable taxes).

Remember, VIDEO 07 is being held during the peak season in Florida,
so making your room reservations early is recommended. You can
call the Hyatt toll-free at 800-233-1234 OR you can reserve your
room on-line at the 4EVER Group website...

http://www.4evergroup.org/...onandtradeshow.shtml (http://www.4evergroup.org/conventionandtradeshow.shtml)

The best values in registration, travel costs, and hotel rates will be available
to the people who act quickly to reserve their place at VIDEO 07.

So, as I said... make your plans NOW.
Join your friends at EDUCATION CENTRAL
The 4EVER Group’s VIDEO 07 Conference and Trade Show

INSPIRATION YOU CAN USE.

Believe me, the VIDEO 07 Conference will have it all...
the finest video educators, ground-breaking workshops,
an exceptional trade show, the Artistic Achievement Awards banquet,
and more networking opportunities than you’ll know what to do with.
It's the perfect spot for a wedvidpro "get-together"!!

If you have ANY questions, don't hesitate to ask. Okay?

I'll see you in Jacksonville...

Ken,

Will there be a price to just attend the trade show? I'm only interested in the video gear, I have no interest in the educational programs.

Joe

$85??? Holy Crap! I'm going to NAB (The National Association of Broadcasters) in New York City in a couple of weeks and the non-member price is only $125 - and that's good for 3 days. Since I am part of the local video community I was able to get two free passes to the second largest professional video expo in the world - number one being NAB in Las Vegas.

Have fun y'all.

Joe

Well, you know you have to pay for the right to shovel more cash at them, don't you? If they didn't charge people to give them money, then EVERYBODY would be doing it. :uhoh:

Hello Everyone...

The 4EVER Group’s VIDEO 07 Videographers Conference and Trade Show
is a growing event for industry professionals. Our primary focus is on education,
which is why we have so many outstanding programs attached to the conference.

Other shows are geared more twoards showing and demonstrating products, not
necessarily buying products. We are an all inclusive Educational Conference that
includes a Trade Show. Our Trade Show is set up so that attendees can BUY.

We are experimenting with the trade show-only pass for VIDEO 07,
as we did not offer such an option at VIDEO 06. For someone intent
on purchasing equipment during the VIDEO 07 trade show, the savings
will likely more than make up for any costs associated with attending.

Regardless of what policy we chose, or what price point we selected,
we realized that it would have been impossible to have made everyone
happy. Our obligations are to the membership of The 4EVER Group
Videographers Network, the registered attendees of VIDEO 07,
the trade show vendors and sponsors, and then the industry at large.

By offering this unique opportunity to attend the Trade Show only, on one
specific day, at a relatively modest cost, we believe that we have struck
an appropriate balance between these sometimes-competing interests.

honestly, unless you live in Florida you are going to want to register for the whole convention. Mind you, getting a trade show only pass will allow you to meet and greet with some of the best minds in the industry for a lower price, which is a great idea for those on a budget. There is just so much to be learned by even going to one seminar that one would think that you would just go the whole mile pay the full price.

Going to NAB would be great too.. But are you going to run into so many event videographers that you know at NAB? Let's face it, NAB is a convention for Broadcasters. Event Videographers will find it interesting too, but it's like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet when all you want is pie. I'd rather go to a pie store. (Sorry for the pie analogy..Mmmmmm Pie.)

Have you ever been to NAB? You'd be surpirsed what you can learn at a trade show. You can put your hands on all the new and cutting edge equipment, you can ask 1:1 questions with the people who are most trained to sell you the stuff (sure, cause they are getting paid to, but that's ok)
NAB is the largest "professional video expo in the world" so it goes way beyond broadcatsers. It encompasses everything video. (And there are lots of free pens).

Mind you, I'm not knocking the seminars elsewhere, but there are several styles of learning. Attending a trade show is a great classroom in itself.
But sitting in an actual classroom isn't for me (ask my Algebra teacher). Anyway, just trying to look at every angle.

Minus points for saying "mind you" twice in two posts. Shame.
Bonus points for the free pens reference.

I think mingling with peers in the industry is at least as valuable as sitting in the seminars. Plus, whenever a Yankee can make it to the South, she should. Even if it's just to stir up trouble.

(I know, I know. Minus points for saying "Yankee" when you're a Red Sox fan.)

Aw, come on. I can't say "Mind You" just cause joemcmanus said it in the post I was quoting? :tongue3:

Yankee-Schmankee (that's what I always say!)
But seriously, I am in Florida at least 3 times a year already, so a trip down south, while I love the warm weather, just isn't a deciding factor. (I'll be in Tampa the last week of December) Of course, when I am standing in 3 feet of snow, I may change my tune...

I haven't been to NAB but I've been guilty of spending way too much at the WEVA trade show in the past year, not always on stuff I really needed.. the excitement of a trade show just kind of takes over ;)

Although what I really want to do is make it to a LAFCPUG meeting. I'n in LA next week but alas too early for the meeting. Now THERE is a place to meet people ;)
