Do you own or use a WACOM Tablet in your productions?
What do you use it for and how often? Which size/model do you have?
I have a 4X5 from years ago that I just dusted off for extensive photoshop work I'm currently doing. I've forgotten what a joy it is to work with these things. (Although, it's a little hinky with the dual screens I'm using... expectedly, I'm losing a little bit of resolution in the x-axis.)

I use mine solely for photoshop (tried editing with it.. HAH!) and I like it quite a bit. You just can't draw an accurate mask with a mouse like you can with a pen.

I use Wacom 4x5 tablets on every PC I own - it's rare that I use a mouse these days. Mostly I have the Graphire tablets and oddly enough I prefer them to the Intuos I have. I just really don't like the Intuos pen.
I also have an ancient Artz II 12x12 tablet that I use with a USB to serial adapter on my Photoshop machine but it often spends it time in a cupboard because I just don't have the desk space to leave it set up...

I have the 9x12 Intuos 3. It's for sale if you want it.

I voted "other". I had one in a previous life but didn't use it much. Don't have any use for one now.

I use the tablets and jonez for a Cintique 21 (It costs more than a 30" Cinema but it is a joy to use). For Motion users, you may find the Wacom has new life as they make use of "Gestures" much like the big boys in the effects world (Discreet Flames et all).
If you can get use to the feel, it will save you from carpal tunnel pains.

I've wanted one for a number of years and have applications (Pshop, Motion, etc.) that could benefit from one.
My problem is that I painted myself into a corner when I heavily customized my computer desk to accomodate everything I have hanging on the NLE and went with a special mousing surface that is below the main desktop (at the same height as my chair's armrests) and doesn't have the vertical clearance to use a pen... :uhoh:
The good news is I had to look up "carpal tunnel syndrome" to understand what the fuss was all about...

George, using that workflow would one use the tablet EXCLUSIVELY to work within Motion?
In theory you could use it exclusively but, I prefer to use a combo. Unfortunately, Tiger took away one of the really fun aspects to gestures - "air gestures" where you didn't actually have to touch the tablet's surface with the pen. Felt like you were orchestrating the piece :)
As you are going through Motion training you might want to try it out. Once you get in the groove it feels really intuitive.
