View Full Version : Broadway Style Edit
So I got this video I'm editing (read: wedding) that's taking awhile (read: B&G scripted every bit of the wedding with broadway music) and I'm stuck..
Not really stuck, but we have these main components:
Ceremony
Toasts
First Dance
Highlight Video
Reception Misc crap
So I'm looking for a way to put this all together in a broadway sense of things. typically I have somewhat creative license and I flow things together but in this case it's almost likes ACT I, ACT II, etc..etc.. But want to do it in a way a broadway fanantic couple would appreciate..
Any broadway musical experts around?

Sounds like a daunting task to me. Interesting angle to approach it from I guess. But, without having the bridal party doing a number of songs and dances, not sure how "Broadway" you can make it.
Perhaps you can use some soundtrack songs from a Broadway musical and put together a series of music montage pieces using the actual footage.
"The Wedding Singer" has been made into a musical. Saw a link to it online, view this montage as a catalyst for ideas I suppose. The CD soundtrack for this Off Broadway Musical is online at Amazon.

Probobly not the best idea I've ever come up with, but maybe you might see something that sparks a better idea. Good luck with it, "break a leg" as they say.....:grinning-smiley-021

I should have been more clear.. I apologize..
Those segments are edited and done.. I just need something to tie them all together in a broadway style approach. I have cd's and cd's of music from them.. So that's not a problem.. Just looking for a ideas on putting them together to flow into one another..

Maybe something cartoony with After Effects and pictures of actual broadway icons (like Phantom, Les Miz, Rent, Annie, Dolly, King and I, etc.)
Curtain calls are always simple transitions.
Good luck.

DOH!
I should have read your initial post more closely. I'm afraid, I'm no help. The whole "Broadway" thing is, you tell a little bit of the story, and then everyone breaks out into song and starts dancing, you tell a little bit more story, and someone start singing again, and everybody dances.
I guess if you got it all scripted and the musical choices are allready defined for you, you could get the bridal party to dress up and lip-sync to a few of the musical selections and use those to tie it all together..:uhoh:
An ambitious project any way you slice it. Hope you're making the big bucks on this job dude:icon_mrgreen:

tiltle cards patrick, perhaps of familiar iconic images (like jerome suggested) or just something "broadway-ey" in terms of graphic design, fonts etc

(like jerome suggested) LOL, I must be on your mind or something:uhoh: . I think Andrew suggested that. I don't have any ideas for this, but was checking the thread to learn I guess.
I appreciate the help..I'll see what I can come up with..:)
