What steps would one need to take to create one and get it going?

For starters, you'll need to send an email of interest to any and all local professional videographers in the area you are looking to set up. Decide on a radius of how far you think you should stretch, and email of of the pro vids in that area. Tell them what you are cooking up (no pun intended) and try to arrange an informal meeting in a central location, to see what the interest level is.

I guess I would start there first and foremost, to see if there is enough interest to warrant a PVA in your area (which is where? East Tennessee? And just where, exactly,is that? :grinning-smiley-021 )

Hi Jerome:

What a great thing it can be when like people who have like needs, goals and philosophies can get together....and even better, when they all make a living the same way!

Professional videography, especially wedding and event driven, is becoming a very hot commodity as video is now a huge part of all of our lives. Starting a local association is an excellent way to help professionals in your area come together for a common purpose....to make themselves and the industry stronger.

The Wedding & Event Videographers Association (WEVA) has a local association starters kit available and if you contact them at info@weva.com they will get it out to you soon.

Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions,
Dan Argenas
