We don't personally, we just decide do we want to be working on that particular holiday or not and turn it down or accept it. I would probably charge extra for new years eve or something. We have had a couple of enquiries for it in the past.

I do this full time. Nope, don't charge extra for holidays, if I don't want to work then I don't book the date.
I've considered it but decided against it. I guess it would depend on what is the norm in your area. Where I am people are cheap so I wouldn't expect that to fly very well.

New Year's seems to be a popular date. I took a New Year's booking, didn't charge extra for it (in fact, I didn't realize until after but I had misquoted by about $100 - d'oh!) I didn't mind it though as it was basically a ceremony only package and it was quick and painless and the folks were great.
Of course the best of all was that I was home in time to fall asleep before midnight. :)

It would depend on the holiday for me. Christmas day, I would charge more. July 4th, no. Also it would depend on if I wanted to work that day or not. If I really didn't want to work, I might bid it high. If they don't want to pay it, then I'm home that holiday. If they agree to the price, then I get compensated well for it.

I guess it really would depend on if you have "posted prices", so to speak. No, I wouldn't charge more for a holiday, because our prices are posted on our website. It just doesn't seem right. However, I wouldn't think twice about saying no a holiday booking if I had travel plans or such for that holiday.
I did just rearrange our whole trip to California (a family vacation) to accept a booking, but that was my choice. It was easily do-able, so I did it. Plus, some holidays are more important than others, depending on the person and their religion, etc. Me, personally, no holiday is all that important. Most are just another day for me. (Sidenote... I have also been a nurse for 15 years, so I usually end up working about 12 hours on any given holiday... oh and I do get paid more if I work a holiday in that case!)
