Sony Vegas 8.0 Announced...

Lookie what I just stumbled upon. I'm a bit surprised no one here mentioned it yet. Interesting timing, I just got an email today from Adobe notifying me that the complete Adobe CS 3 creative suite is now shipping.

Wait! What's Vegas Movie Studio? It looks like a low-end product? Have they dropped the price on Vegas to $129 or is this a spin-off product?

No it's been around quite a while as a entry level vegas program. I think the next Vegas version will be Vegas 64bit

I think of "Movie Studio" as the "little brother" of Vegas. Or the "lite" version of Vegas. So the lite version 8 has been released. The full version Vegas 8 has not yet been released and no timeframe has been given other than a blanket statement previously that the next major releases would be Vista compatible and released by the end of the year.
