Remember months back when I posted a link to a little box called the WD TV? Now everyone is talking about that, and no less than 3 or 4 outfits are making their own versions. I predict this little gadget and knock-offs of it are going to be seen popping up all over.

Check out this nifty little box. A $99 Linux-based file server in the form of a wall-wart. There's even an iPhone client available. They've just started shipping, and it appears there's already a week to 10 day backlog, so get in line, I've ordered mine!:devil-smiley-076:

Follow the link below to the company website, and read all about it. There are links at the bottom of this page to early reviews of the product by CNET, Engadget, Gizmodo, and Popular Science.

UPDATE: There is a User Forum at: http://www.pogoplugged.com/

And Here's a You Tube demo video, with more links on the discussion forum

WOW, Michael! First, the Western Digital HD movie player system, and now PogoPlug. Dude, you keep finding really, REALLY useful, applicable, appliances.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one today!

Great find Michael. Hope you wouldn't mind doing a little presentation about this at a future BAPVA meeting. Let me know how your user experience is before I place my order (so many toys, so few Swiss bank accounts).

I ordered one and it got here on Friday. I plugged it in, registered it, and it worked. My plan is to use it at the office so I can put video files on it for client approval. That will save me the time of uploading it to my website for them to view.

When I got home, however, I couldn't connect. It kept telling me that the drive was not available. When I went to the office today, it looks like it had died. No lights come on or anything. Sent a mail to the company and they're going to get me an RMA on it.

Your thoughts on purposing the PogoPlug mirror mine exactly. I've had mine for about 2 weeks, and it's working great. I've installed the free software on my iPod Touch, and it's awesome.

Yours and Michael's thoughts also mirror mine. I've had mine for nearly 2 weeks, up and running in no time and buzzing along like a nice little helper.

Already successful, using a thumb drive, in sharing some software info, and video clips with folks. Works as advertised.

Also, the guys at Pogo are VERY attentive, and responded immediately when I e-mailed them regarding a minor issue with the on-screen hard drive software I downloaded. That also works like a charm, now that I figured it out.
