I guess it's time to start setting up the 4EverGroup WVP/** Gathering as we did for Expo.
What is a good time to meet? Where? Please give us your ideas and we'll start batting them around.

I plan on OFFICIALLY going to this convention. Not just cruisin in for the weekend. And I definately won't be driving. No chance of a speeding ticket that way!!

I plan on going, however does depend on my mom (watching the kids for 4 days while we are gone) Even if I can't go, Joe will definately be there.

I voted "I haven't decided but I'll probably go." I'd like to go, but at this point it seems like it would be for meeting other WVP members.

I just spent some time at the 4ever website, looking through the forums, and it's pretty dead over there. I couldn't find out how much it will cost to go to the expo except for the Aug. 31 deadline if you're a member (which at this point I have no desire to join).

I wish I had gone to WEVA. WEVA seems to be dying but at least they have a track record of putting on good expos. You know what to expect when you go. 4ever should be growing but I don't see any signs of that.

Are there any 4ever members here? Do you have any "inside info"?

Alot of the EXPOs save for 2004-2006 have been headed up by Tim and Steve who now run 4EG. Just on the basis of the first Convention they put together, I don't think you would be dissappointed from either a learning perspective or an organizational one. It just ran smooth as glass and the opening night gala is still being talked about (in a good way). Plus the price of food there should be more reasonable. I had a blast at the first convention and plan on attending the second one.

Cwatts - I'm waiting to decide on my attendance based on who is going. I have a few people on my list who haven't decided yet but your affirmative response bodes well for the prospects of my attending.
I'm sticking you on my running list.
Thanks for the feedback.

I will defianatly be there... ( save for a blizzard.. making me late... )
I am looking forward to posting some vlogs myself... that looked like more fun than anything.!

Although, I know that I will be in the midst of learning and networking! ...

Tim and Steve are sooo motivated and inspirational! .. I am really looking forward to attending this convention.. ESPECIALLY after all the good stuff I heard about last years ... I am sorry I missed it! ...

Hope I get to see ya Drew! ... we can get in eachothers vlog shots... ( I thought that was great to see the same shots of you and Glenns from the opposite angles! .. too cool! )

Anyway- gotta edit!

I know WEVA had non-member rates. Although they were MUCH higher. Not sure about 4Ever

That's not a stupid question, Their website just doesn't over floweth with information. I think (not 100% sure) members can attend for a lower rate, and we did get an email for a special early bird type rate. (did you get that email? If you didn't, let me know and I'll forward it to you)

Well I'm right now working on my outline for a presentation so hopefully there's a spot on the schedule left. If it comes together like I'm hoping it will, it might end up being my first 2 hour seminar. We'll see.

Well count me in, as I just registered.

I'll be representing the DC/Baltimore area, getting my groove on :dance1:.

Actually, I'm kind of geeked for this, as this will be my first national convention of any kind.

Hi Joe,

I had the pleasure to speak this year at the Expo and it was a terrific experience. It was at Walt Disney World, so it was great for the family. I was bummed to see it wasn't at WDW this year, but I'm sure there's a good reason. Also, the Jacksonville, FL site looks good.

I would guess there were about 200+ attendees this past January (just guessing, I could be way off. If I am off, I'm most likely low). The next one looks like it's gearing up to be significantly larger. And I think they're going to implement some changes in the training based on suggestions given last year. I don't want to say what they are because it's not official. But if they're doing what i think they're doing, it's going to be a fantastic learning experience. And with speakers like Lance Gray, Brian Gunn, Russ Jolly, Randy Stubbs, Robert Allen, and more (both new faces and old), there won't be a loss for learning.

With regards to their forums, I haven't gotten the impression they're really pushing them. Frankly, I'm sure between starting a new national video org, running their own video companies, traveling for the summits, and oh yeah, being sued, they don't have a lot of time to spiff up the ol' website. I know it needs it, but there's only so much those guys can do.

For me and my family, we loved how Tim and Steve ran the event, we loved the fellowship with other videogs, and the seminars seemed fresh. I hope to see a lot of you guys there. It'll be great to names to faces.

~ Ron

What the heck?

Like you, I'm a pretty savvy internet surfer... but for whatever reason (maybe it's the late hour) I was not able to find a place where I can register for the 4EG Conference on their own website.

So what does a guy have to do to get an institution to take his money?!
I'm I going blind? How do I register?!

Also, where can I find a "How to submit a proposal" document? Two direct emails to Tim Ryan yielded no response whatsoever.

Just send the check to me, I'll make sure 4EG gets it. :grinning-smiley-021

Are you a member of 4EG? (We're not) So I'm wondering, out loud, do you have to be a member to access that section of their website? (Which isn't too business savvy, but it's all I can think of?)

From what I understood, once the date passed to get the early registration, they were not planning on putting details on their website until later in the year after ALL details were finalized. That way, they can list all the times and dates of the seminars and workshops at the same time they offer open registration.

If that's true, then let me say, that's kind of dumb (no offense). Ok, what's dumb is to not clearly state that on the home page of 4EG. How about something simple like...

"Pre-Register by August 31st for discount (blah blah blah)... Open registration will being September 22nd"

Nah, you're right, that's too easy. :tongue3:

Edit: I just received an email from Ed W (of 4EG) He tells me all the info, with prices, programs, registration, should be posted here http://4evergroup.org/conventionandtradeshow.shtml on or about October 1st.

Andrew...

You asked where you can find a "How to submit a proposal" document...
Here's a link to a PDF that I think should help you out.

http://4evergroup.org/write_a_4eg_outline.pdf (http://4evergroup.org/write_a_4eg_outline.pdf)

Tim, like Steve, has been "ON THE ROAD" more than Willie Nelson
lately and I'm sure his backlog of emails is substantial. If you
have any questions about VIDEO 07, you can ask me and I'll do
everything I can to get you an answer as quickly as possible.

Okay?

I would love to go--(was there last year and it was FANTASTIC) but the wifey is due with our first child the end of December----so that 99.9% probably wont happen!

oh well---you'll have to fill us in - and hopefully Andrew / Glenn & Darrle can do more weblogs

I am not sure if I will go. Can someone who went last year give me an idea of what it was like? How many people attended? What were the classes like? What was the general feeling there? What makes it different than the WEVA Expo? I am always open to learning and growing and totally believe that attending seminars and convention help do that. I just don't want to go all that way and be disappointed.

Thanks for checking our site out Jason! I really appreciate the feedback on the site. We really tried to design it with marketing in mind.

Oh and thanks for the welcome to the boards. I was so excited when someone at the WEVA convention told me about them. They seem active and very positive!! I like that.

Cheers,
Ande
